Cattle Expansion

A young cattle producer in the southeast had been with his local lender since he began feeding and grazing cattle. As his operation grew, his lender could see that he was no longer able to support the young producers’ growing business. The bank valued the young cattleman as a customer, but realized they could not financially support his needs as they would have to exceed their lending limits to meet his borrowing requirements.

Through a current customer, the young producer was referred to Land O’Lakes Finance Co. for his cattle financing needs. What started out as a cattle operating loan to support the purchase and feeding of 500 head has now grown to an operation feeding over 2,000 head of cattle. The customer has continued expanding his cattle operation and has now opened a buying station where he purchases local cattle from smaller producers.
